Phoenix Broadband, WeiTel ink agreement
The companies will work together to provide solutions for cable operators, with the goal of improving network power management and decreasing operating maintenance costs.
WeiTel, as an authorized reseller and integrator of Phoenix’s power monitoring products, will deploy Phoenix’s PowerAgent technology, providing a system with preventive maintenance capabilities, the companies said.
Additionally, the companies will develop a suite of post-sale power system maintenance and repair services, which will be based on the information delivered to the system operator by the Phoenix monitoring technology.
In Q2, WeiTel and Phoenix will bring to market a turnkey outsourcing solution, which will include hardware, monitoring, preventive and demand maintenance. The solution is intended to be an alternative to in-house power systems management and monitoring.
Phoenix’s battery and power systems monitoring technology – called “Admittance Testing” – provides predictive information about the state of each individual battery in a cable network, allowing preventive maintenance to be performed in a proactive and economical manner. Admittance Testing is based on digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and monitors the internal condition of the batteries.
King of Prussia, Pa.-based WeiTel designs, deploys and manages voice, video and data networks for cable, telecom and wireless operators.
