* SCTE looking for board nominations

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is accepting nominations for 10 seats on its 17-member board of directors that are up for election next year. Any member of the SCTE can nominate a candidate online by submitting the nomination form located here Nominators can click on the Member Services section of the Web site and then select National Leadership to access details and a link to the form. The nomination deadline is Oct. 2. All board members are elected to a two-year term.

* Parasun Tech. supporting JetBroadband’s new data subs

Parasun Technologies Inc. has been selected by JetBroadband to support the 11,000 data subscribers that JetBroadband acquired from Suddenlink. Parasun has been providing broadband support to JetBroadband’s data subscribers in Virginia since 2001.

* CTHRA hands out HR awards

The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has unveiled the first recipients of CTHRA's Excellence in Human Resources (HR) Awards.

Cox Orange County and Palos Verdes won the HR Best Practices Award and was given the Best Practices Honor. Brian Koenig, SVP of HR at Scientific Atlanta, won the Leadership and Excellence Award for his role with HR issues related to Cisco’s acquisition of SA. Both honorees will be awarded on Oct. 23 in Atlanta, during CTHRA's Achieving HR Excellence Symposium.

* VoIP performs reverse split

VoIP Inc. pulled off a reverse stock split, under which for every 20 shares of issued and outstanding common stock, a shareholder will receive one share of common stock. The Company's stock symbol has changed to VOIC.
