* Mediacom deploys Radcom VoIP monitoring system

Mediacom Communications is using a voice service quality monitoring system from Radcom for its voice-over-IP service. Radcom’s Omni-Q monitors, records and analyzes the performance parameters that constitute MOS (mean opinion score), offering operators both historical voice quality monitoring and subscriber level troubleshooting.

* BigBand showing next-gen SDV at CableLabs conference

BigBand Networks Inc. will show its new switched digital video (SDV) capabilities in both public and private demonstrations at the CableLabs Summer Conference this week in Keystone, Colo.

In private exhibits for operators, BigBand will demo the technology - designed to go beyond bandwidth savings and enable the delivery of TV commercials to individual viewers, the delivery of Internet video to SD and HD televisions, and the support of a “virtually infinite amount of programming,” the company said.

* Comcast expands voice service, adds VOD channel

Comcast Corp. has launched Comcast Digital Voice residential phone service in Albuquerque, N.M. Comcast Digital Voice is currently available in more than 60 markets nationwide, reaching more than 32.4 million homes.

Comcast has also launched rehearsalsTV, an on-demand service that takes viewers behind the scenes at the CenterStaging Corp. campus in Burbank, Calif. The content will also be available on CenterStaging is a music and entertainment studio with rehearsal facilities for music recording artists and production facilities for broadcast and online content.

* AT&T debuts U-verse in Oklahoma City

AT&T has launched its U-verse service in parts of Oklahoma - in and around Oklahoma City, including Edmond, Moore and Norman. U-verse offers more than 26 HD channels and several tiers of high-speed Internet access.

* ILD picks up Andiamo’s international operators service division

ILD Telecommunications announced today that it’s buying up certain assets of Andiamo Telecom. Andiamo Telecom’s operator services call center division will be integrated with ILD’s existing outsourced services division, which serves communications carriers, hospitality providers, and telecommunications aggregators. ILD said it will keep Andiamo’s sales management personnel in order to ensure a seamless transition.
