Arris’ C4 CMTS chassis has been deployed by Cablenet Communication Systems in three major cities in Cyprus.

The CMTSs, which were purchased through Arris reseller B.A.S.E. Technologies, were deployed in Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca by Cablenet as part of its triple play strategy.

Cablenet, which is a strategic partner with the Electric Authority of Cyprus, has offered cable video services throughout the island for several years, but it recently made the decision to upgrade its network in order to offer high-speed data and telephony services. Aside from the C4, Cablenet is using Arris’ Touchstone 502B embedded multimedia adapters and Touchstone Wireless E-MTA WTM552Bs.

Cablenet picked Arris as part of a turnkey, end-to-end backbone and triple play service solution provided by B.A.S.E. Cablenet plans on passing 60,000 homes this year with an additional 60,000 homes slated for next year.

"We exhaustively researched the solutions provided us by several vendors and selected the ARRIS solution for its reliability, availability and ability to scale," said Cablenet's Managing Director Nicolas Shiacolas, in a prepared statement. "Cablenet is proud to deploy the infrastructure necessary to add high-speed data and primary line telephony service to the inhabitants of Cyprus."
