U-verse, AT&T's VDSL-fed IP-based video and data offering, has entered the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where it will go head-to-head with cable incumbent Time Warner Cable.
AT&T said the service initially will be offered to "limited areas" in the metro region, but it will be expanding the U-verse footprint there "on an ongoing basis."
The service starts at $44 per month. U-verse's lineup of 25 HDTV channels costs $10 per month, following two months of free access after signup.
On the data front, U-verse sports three tiers: Elite (6 Mbps down/1 Mbps up); Pro (3 Mbps x 1 Mbps); and Express (1.5 Mbps x 1 Mbps).
