Cox Communications has chosen the Concurrent MediaHawk 4000 on-demand platform to launch VOD in its Tulsa, Okla. and Baton Rouge, La. divisions.
The VOD platform, which uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware, delivers independent scalability of content ingest, storage and streaming across HFC and IP networks worldwide, Concurrent said.
The addition of Tulsa and Baton Rouge brings to 12 the number of Cox divisions utilizing Concurrent software and equipment. Concurrent now delivers to about 75 percent of Cox's VOD-enabled subscribers.
Concurrent recently acquired Everstream, a business intelligence software company.
