Comcast Media Center (CMC) announced the hiring of two sales veterans and the promotion of three sales and marketing team members in support of a sales realignment at the company.

CMC, a business unit of Comcast Cable, expanded a distributor services unit - which provides sales and customer solutions to MSOs and content distributors - and a content services unit that offers the same solutions for TV programming networks and other content developers.

"This expansion will allow us to meet the needs of these two very important customer categories more effectively," said Leslie Russell, vice president for sales and marketing at CMC, in a statement.

Hired are Sam Klosterman, the new director of CMC's distributor services sales unit; and Ed Nunez, the new account director in the content services unit.

A 20-year industry vet, Klosterman most recently served as vice president of affiliate sales for Lime. Nunez previously served as an executive consultant for GSN, and held programming acquisition positions with Charter Communications, Times Mirror Cable, PrimeStar and Ameritech New Media.

Promoted are Lisa Padilla to director of content services; and Dianne DeBerard to director of marketing. CMC sales vet Patty Graner has also been tapped to serve on the Content Services sales team.

Padilla joined CMC in 2002 as account director; DeBerard joined the company as a senior marketing manager in 2000; and Graner previously served as a customer solutions manager and account manager for commercial services.
