TVN gets license to drive Disney VOD
TVN Entertainment added an important weapon to its VOD programming arsenal after striking a new deal with Disney's Buena Vista Video-On-Demand division.
Previously, TVN had offered Disney films for pay-per-view distribution only. Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed, but TVN affiliates will be able to offer customers new releases, direct-to-video titles and library films from the Walt Disney Studios for unlimited viewing over a 72-hour period. Traditionally, VOD viewing periods run 24 hours.
The new deal applies to TVN's cable, telco and IPTV affiliates.
Disney will also have access to TVN's ADONISS 2.0 asset management system.
