The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) has issued a call for papers for Cable-Tec Expo 2007, set for June 19-22 in Orlando, Fla.

SCTE has set a deadline for technical paper proposals of Jan. 19, 2007.

Interested parties are asked to submit one- or two-page proposals of no greater than 600 words in abstract form, with special attention paid to how the session might include "interactive" elements.

Proposals should be sent by the deadline via e-mail to EXPO_info@scte.org.

SCTE will announce selected presentations by Feb. 16, 2007.

Although all topics will be considered, SCTE is, in particular, seeking case studies on topics such as switched digital video, delivering reliable business services, how to determine the best time to split a node, how to best accommodate HDTV services, how to scale VoIP, and how to enlist "The New Back Office."

The Society is also seeking papers bent on fundamental tutorials on topics such as IP for the RF engineer, RF for the IP engineer, DOCSIS evolutionary roadmap, troubleshooting across multiple products, wireless, and home networking.

SCTE also will give special consideration to more advanced tutorials on the subjects of robust fault monitoring routines, migrating to the DOCSIS Set-top Gateway, innovative fiber or coax construction techniques, and bandwidth management.

SCTE has asked that questions be directed to Glenda Calcaterra -- 610-524-1725 x 234 (phone), or 610-363-7133 (fax).
