* Humax picks Conexant-Conax combo for HD box
Humax will power a new HDTV set-top system with silicon from Conexant Systems and security systems from Conax AS.

Under the deal, the CE firm will tap Conexant's CX2417X/CX2418X HD platform for a new receiver to be deployed by ComHem of Sweden.

The chipset is designed to support MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, as well as Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. It is also compatible with DVB and ATSC, Conexant said.

Conax AS, meanwhile, will supply the box's encryption and conditional access system.
