TiVo Inc. has sealed a deal to sell its new dual-tuner Series2 digital video recorder in more than 3,000 RadioShack Corp. stores and via the retailer's Web site.

The agreement also includes retail space for a TiVo-branded 802.11g adapter.

TiVo introduced the dual-tuner DVR in April. At that time, TiVo noted that the new "DT" model would be optimized for cable. TiVo has already obtained Digital Cable Ready (DCR) "verification" from CableLabs to produce DVRs with on-board CableCARD slots. When combined with a cable operator-supplied CableCARD, the TiVo DVR would be able to obtain authorization for digital cable services without the need for a separate set-top box.

The DVR sold through RadioShack will offer TiVo's "KidZone" programming and the TiVo2Go feature, which allows customers to transfer recorded programs to select laptop PCs and other mobile devices.

The 80-hour (standard-definition) Series2 DT sells for $99, following a $150 rebate.
