Cable group has won over $1.5 billion in wireless licenses
SpectrumCo, the consortium of Comcast, Time Warner, Sprint Nextel, Cox Communications, and Bright House Networks, is the third largest bidder in the FCC's spectrum auction so far, with $1.57 billion in winning bids on 90 licenses, according to the AP.
Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA are the top two bidders. The auction has raised nearly $12 billion so far.
T-Mobile held the winning bid of more than $3.74 billion on 117 licenses.
Verizon Wireless was second with about $2.8 billion for four licenses. Cingular has the winning bids on 41 licenses valued at about $681.7 million.
