* ICTV hires Reeder
ICTV has named Stephen Reeder to the post of VP of business development for the EMEA region.

Reeder joins ICTV following three years as EVP with ANT plc, an iTV software developer located in the U.K. Before that, he was with Lucent Technologies, Concert, and BT's Consumer Products, Cable TV Services and Research and Development units.

At ICTV, Reeder will seek deployment and implementation strategies for ICTV's ActiveVideo platform, which is designed to marry Internet functionality with advertising and TV-quality video. ICTV's new system also features customizable, video-rich mosaic navigation capabilities. 

* CTAM ups two
The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) has promoted Shelly Good-Cook to senior director of membership marketing & chapter relations; and Dana Fragnoli to research manager.

Good-Cook joined CTAM in September 2002 as director of membership marketing.

Fragnoli, elevated from research analyst, joined CTAM in March 2005.

* RCN flips switch on Turin
RCN Business Solutions, the commercial services arm of RCN Corp., is leveraging a multi-service transport switch from Turin Networks to support a carrier-class Ethernet service.

The deployment features Turin's "Traverse" switch, which is supporting apps such as multipoint E-LAN, and point-to-point Ethernet Private Line services.

* Lycos adds video search engine
Lycos has launched a new video search engine based on technology provided by blinkx. Blinkx is providing its patented speech and pattern recognition technologies for Lycos' video search. The two will share revenue generated from search results.
