* Amino to provide IPTV set-tops for service in Croatia
Amino Communications said it was selected to provide set-top boxes for IPTV in Croatia. Vodatel is rolling out what Amino says is not only the first IPTV deployment in that country, but also the first triple-play service. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is building Vodatel's FTTH system.

* Dish served up tiled multi-view of ESPN X Games
ESPN presented the X Games, which concluded yesterday, in mosaic format in partnership with EchoStar Communications.

ESPN Interactive X Games allowed viewers to monitor six camera feeds in a mosaic format on DISH Network's DishHOME channel 100. The windows included ESPN, four different X Games events and a "best of X Games" highlight reel. Subscribers were able to choose one of six, or all six in a mosaic.

Subs were also able to order additional material, including interviews with athletes and behind-the-scenes footage, on a pay-per-view basis through the DishHOME interactive banner.

* Cedar Point shows off SIP, IMS
Cedar Point Communications said it will demo a range of applications based on SIP (session initiation protocol) and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) at the CableLabs Summer Conference, which runs Aug. 6-9 in Keystone, Colo.

In addition to apps, Cedar Point will demonstrate how its SAFARI C³ switching platform can integrate with other "core" network elements of IMS, and support a migration to a full IMS-based fixed-mobile convergence system.

SIP and IMS are key elements of the recently-issued PacketCable Release 2 specifications.
