Interactive television (iTV) applications provider BIAP Systems has closed a $20 million round of funding led by Sevin Rosen Funds.
The round, which also included participation by SCP Partners and other existing investors, will be used to fund the development and promotion of new applications, the company said.
In the cable arena, BIAP has gained significant traction with Time Warner Cable, scoring deployments for several set-top-based applications, including those that help consumers track their fantasy football and baseball teams. The MSO, in partnership with BIAP, is also offering in select markets a service that allows customers to monitor bids made on eBay via the television.
BIAP's platform uses artificial intelligence techniques to obtain data from the Internet and other electronic sources.
