Insight adds revenue, basic subs in Q1

Buoyed by advanced service subscriber gains, Insight Communications posted revenues of $301.3 million, up 12 percent from a year ago.

The MSO ended the quarter with 2.48 million revenue generating units, up 15 percent. It also recorded a net gain of 25,100 basic customers, giving it a total of 1,306,700.

On the high-speed data front, Insight added 44,400 net subs, 19 percent higher than a year ago. The operator ended Q1 with 514,800 high-speed customers, and a penetration rate of 22 percent.

Insight also signed up 41,700 digital customers, compared to 34,000 a year ago, giving it a total of 560,500, or a penetration rate of 45 percent. The company added 9,800 telephone customers, extending its total to 99,700.
