Trilithic's Emergency Alert Division announced its EASyPLUS encoder/decoder has passed interoperability testing with RGB Networks' Simulcast Edge Processor (SEP).

The EASy-PLUS is a scalable, IP-based Emergency Alert System. Combined with the optional EASy-NIC Ethernet Interface, it supports both analog and digital EAS protocols. The system comes complete with two built-in programmable AM/FM/NOAA receivers, an internal character generator, nonvolatile internal log storage, and through the use of DSP technology, the ability to upgrade without any internal hardware changes.

The testing demonstrated that the Digital EAS crawls and override capabilities (based on the SCTE 18 standard) from the EASyPLUS work smoothly with RGB Networks' Simulcast Edge Processor, and that cable operators planning to deploy digital simulcast have a proven Digital EAS solution, simplifying simulcast deployment plans.
