The Carlyle Group intends to sell Dutch cable operator Casema, according to Financial Times. Casema is valued at about $2.4 billion.

Possible buyers include Liberty Media, Warburg Pincus, a partnership of Cinven and Altice, and Essent Kabelcom.

Liberty Media bid on Casema in 2003, when it was sold by France Telecom, and is known to be looking for acquisitions. Warburg Pincus owns rival Dutch MSO Multikabel. Cinven, a private equity firm, and Altice, a French cable operator, jointly own UPC France, which they acquired last year. Essent Kabelcom is the second-largest cable company in the Netherlands.

Casema has 1.4 million customers, making it the Netherlands' third-largest cable operator.
