On Command Video Corp. said it will use content protection technology from Zenith Electronics Corp. as the hotel entertainment provider begins to offer high-definition television services.

Under the deal, On Command will tap Zenith's "Pro:Idiom" digital rights management system, marking it one of the first service providers to adopt the technology.

"With HD content beginning to make a presence in…hotel rooms, it is important that we offer viable content security solutions to Hollywood," said On Command SVP of Marketing and Programming Tad Walden, in a release.

On Command said it is offering HD movies on-demand in "select" hotel rooms in the U.S., but was not more specific. In all, the company distributes entertainment services to more than 1 million guest rooms.
