Vonage Marketing has teamed with UTStarcom to launch a portable WiFi handset.

The handset, dubbed the F1000 and manufactured by UTStarcom, is configured with Vonage's VoIP phone service. It will sell for $129.99, or $79.99 via an instant $50 rebate. The F1000 features a battery that supplies up to five hours of talk time and 50 to 100 hours of standby time.

The new phone "will enable [Vonage customers] to make unlimited local and long distance calls from any open access Wi-Fi hot spot," said Vonage EVP of Product Development Louis Holder.
