Despite continued doubts about its long-term prospects, TiVo Inc. continues to roll out new products, announcing a slew of new online services aimed at the television set.

TiVo subscribers with a Series2 digital video recorder can now access local movie listings and tickets, listen to Internet radio, listen to podcasts, view shared photos on Yahoo! Inc. and get local weather and traffic information beamed into their TV sets.

"TiVo forever changed the way people watch TV, making it easy to find and record your favorite programs," said Tom Rogers, TiVo's president and CEO, in a release. "Now we're extending that ease-of-use to enable our subscribers to easily discover and enjoy online services directly on their television sets."

The services are being fielded with a new crop of partners, including Yahoo!, Internet movie ticketing provider Fandango and Internet radio provider Live365.

"TiVo and Live365 represent a great combination," added David Porter, Live365's general manager of business development. "Both services give people the ability to take control of their media, tuning into what they want and even discovering something new. We're pleased to be part of this inaugural online services rollout."
