Korean MSO using Alticast to protect 4K content

CJ Hellovision in South Korea is using Alticast’s content protection systems to secure content for its ongoing rollout of both live and on-demand Ultra HD (4K) programming to all of its more than 4.3 million subscribers, the vendor said.

Ergen gets payoff as LightSquared bankruptcy settled

Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen was granted a request for $1.4 billion in cash plus interest as repayment for LightSquared's debt he bought using hundreds of millions of dollars from his daughter's trust fund. In bankruptcy court last year, LightSquared alleged that Ergen had purchased the debt illegally on Dish's behalf and not for himself.
