Cablevision Systems Corp. has added a mix of features and applications for its Optimum Voice IP telephony service, and has launched an upgraded version of its Web-based customer portal.

The new features, available to customers at no additional cost, include VIP Ringing (provides a distinctive ring tone for up to 32 designated phone numbers), Call Waiting on Caller ID, Busy Redial, Anonymous Call Blocking, and Find Me, a function that can route incoming calls to up to four designated locations and completes the call on the first line that answers.

The beefed up "My Optimum Voice" portal enables customers to control and manage the service's range of features and allows for the retrieval of voicemail messages. The portal and the features are included in the $34.95 per month price on the service.

"We look forward to continuing to evolve the Optimum Voice experience and also to increase its integration with our Optimum-branded video and high-speed Internet services, so it becomes even more valuable for our customers," said Cablevision VP of Digital Voice Product Management Joe Varello, in a release.

As of June 30, Cablevision had 480,000 Optimum Voice subs.
