Cable Bahamas will leverage technology from EGT Inc. to help the operator migrate to an all-digital network.

Under the deal, the MSO will support the conversion with EGT encoders, including its flagship MPEG-2 "Prelude" platform. The MSO will also enlist EGT's "Aria" native variable bit rate encoding software, which is designed to improve bandwidth performance by 15 percent over traditional open-loop encoding systems.

Cable Bahamas will use the technology to provide digital services to subs in New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera.
