Buckeye TeleSystem, a cable and CLEC based in Toledo, Ohio, has agreed to deploy a system from Empirix Inc. to provide VoIP network testing and monitoring.

The vendor's Hammer XMS monitoring system will keep a close eye on Buckeye VoIP services, which will offer the service to business and residences. The system is designed to track all VoIP and TDM traffic in real-time.

Buckeye, which has 150,000 customers in Northwest Ohio and Southwest Michigan, has already integrated the system with its installed softswitch from Cedar Point Communications. Empirix is a member of Cedar Point's ServiceClass Partners Program.
