Brix builds VoIP self-service platform

Brix Networks has launched BrixCare Self-Service, a quality measurement and reporting application for VoIP services.

The application measures VoIP quality from the customer premise, and consists of three components: On-Demand VoIP Agent, a lightweight Java applet; Central Management Software, a platform that collects data for customer service reps and NOC engineers; and Brix Verifiers, hardware on the network that terminates test calls and measures VoIP quality.

"BrixCare Self-Service allows both users and providers to quickly determine whether a problem originates in the user's environment, the ISP's network, or the VoIP provider's service delivery infrastructure," said company Product Line Manager Laura Holly.

A "starter kit," which includes a Brix 1000 Verifier, test suite, self-service application and related licenses, lists for $65,000, the company said.
