Cable One Inc. will use cable modem termination systems (CMTSs) and embedded multimedia terminal adapters (eMTAs) from ARRIS to support the MSO's rollout of IP telephony services.

Under the deal, Cable One will deploy ARRIS' flagship CMTS, the Cadant C4, and its TM402 line of eMTAs. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ARRIS said it marked the first time Cable One has placed an order with the vendor for broadband gear.

Cable One, the cable unit of The Washington Post Company, has 715,000 subscribers in 19 states.
