Cablevision Systems Corp. has inked a licensing deal for OpenCASE, a content service management platform from ExtendMedia Inc.

ExtendMedia has also provided support for Cablevision's interactive television applications and Web development. The company has partnerships with media companies such as ESPN, Sony, BCE and Tribune.

ExtendMedia introduced the 2.0 version of OpenCASE in March. The platform is designed to help service operators launch services across a range of networks and devices. OpenCASE, once hooked into the service provider's backoffice system, is outfitted to manage business rules and policies for consumer content services and connected devices.
