The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) recently honored three chapters and one Society member.

The South Florida Chapter earned the 2005 Chapter Web Site Award for its graphics- and information-rich site; the New England Chapter came away with the 2005 Large Chapter of the Year Award, recognized for its education programs, membership growth and certification support; and the Lighthouse Chapter (Portland, Maine) won the 2005 Small Chapter of the Year Award, recognized for boosting vendor and seminar attendance, local partnerships and newsletters.

SCTE also honored Steven Johnson, the secretary of the Sooner State Chapter in Oklahoma City, Okla., with the 2005 Chapter Member of the Year award. SCTE recognized his work in implementing dual meeting sites and increasing attendance of chapter-sponsored development events and meetings. Johnson, an SCTE member since 1995, is a technical trainer for Cox Communications.
