J:COM rings up phone service
Jupiter Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (J:COM), Japan's largest cable MSO, has launched phone services in Sapporo.
The IP-based voice service, dubbed J:Com Phone, will give the MSO the coveted "triple play," as it also offers a range of video and data services.
The service will allow customers to port their current "0AB-J" phone number from telephone incumbent NTT. J:COM is selling the service for 1,330 yen per month (about U.S. $12.45), and a second line for 698 yen (U.S. $6.53).
