EchoStar enters new bundling Frontier
Frontier Communications is the latest telco to sign a deal to bundle its communications services with EchoStar Communications' satellite TV services.
Frontier, which sells communications services in Rochester N.Y. and to some rural areas, will offer the EchoStar bundle and put all services on a single bill. Financial terms were not disclosed.
"This relationship strengthens our market position by putting in place the video component of a 'triple play' offering of telephone, television and high-speed Internet," said Maggie Wilderotter, president and CEO of Citizens Communications, Frontier's parent company. Wilderotter is late of Microsoft Corp. and Wink Communications (now part of OpenTV Corp.).
EchoStar has similar bundling arrangements with ALLTEL, SBC Communications, Sprint, CenturyTel, and Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises Inc.
