Just in time to catch the bulk of the NBA playoffs, Comcast Cable has inked a deal to carry the high-definition feed of TNT. Comcast did not list where the hi-def net will appear first, but said launch dates will vary by market.
TNT in HD is broadcast in 1080i format and employs Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.
Comcast said HDTV presently is available to more than 93 percent of its customers. In addition to broadcast networks and regional sports networks, Comcast has HD carriage deals with networks such as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz!, Discovery HD Theater, ESPN, INHD, and INHD2.
