SupportSoft Inc. has launched ServiceVerify 2.0, a software platform that enables broadband service providers to automatically verify the installation and operation of VoIP, video and traditional high-speed data services.
The 2.0 version of the product also features a Web-based editor that enables service providers to configure multiple conditions (pass, fail, or marginal fail, for example) for each type of service, and customizable "dashboards" for customer service representatives (CSRs).
Because the platform can help operators more accurately find and resolve service problems in the "last mile" of the network or at the customer premise device, that data can prove valuable during truck rolls.
"We give [field techs] a battle plan before they go to the house," said Marc Itzkowitz, SupportSoft's director of product management.
Presently, Charter Communications is using the high-speed data version of ServiceVerify 2.0. SupportSoft is conducting two trials with the video version, Itzkowitz said.
SupportSoft, which used to focus only on CPE-side support, gained visibility into broadband networks after acquiring OSS specialist Core Networks last year for about $17 million.
Separately, SupportSoft has inked a deal to integrate the ServiceVerify software with BrixNetworks Inc. 's VoIP performance management and service assurance technology.
