Thomson is the proud owner of the first set-top with an embedded cable modem to win Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 certification.

The Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board (ECB) granted the certification to Thomson's DCI5200, a modem embedded within a DVB-C set-top, following wave 18.

ECB also awarded Euro-DOCSIS qualification to ARRIS' C4 cable modem termination systems, and Euro-PacketCable certification to embedded multimedia terminal adapters from Linksys (the CM2P2E), Scientific-Atlanta (the EPX2203), and Thomson (the THG520).

ECB also started testing on Euro-PacketCable Multimedia-based CMTSs and Policy Servers during wave 18, though no product was given a passing grade.

Wave 19 is slated to kick off in May.
