CableLabs promotes from within
CableLabs doled out a handful of promotions, led by the elevation of Don Dulchinos to senior vice president of advanced platforms & services (APS).
In his new role, Dulchinos, the former vice president of APS, will spearhead the extension of the OpenCable architecture to a wide range of products, including personal computers. He will also develop the CableLabs OCAP (OpenCable Application Platform) middleware project for interactive television (iTV), including synch-to-broadcast enhanced television (ETV) applications.
The Louisville, Colo.-based cable R&D group also made the following promotions:
Michelle Kuska to vice president of broadband access, where she will head up the DOCSIS and CableHome initiatives. She was previously the director of specifications and architecture, broadband access.
Oscar Marcia to vice president of security, a newly-formed CableLabs division. Marcia most recently served as chief security architect.
David Broberg to vice president, consumer video technology, APS. He previously was director for OpenCable requirements in that APS group.
Jean-Françius Milé to vice president, IP technologies and services. Milé, a lead PacketCable architect, will also relocate to Europe to serve as a CableLabs liaison with CableLabs MSO members in the region.
