NetLogic Microsystems said ARRIS is using its NL5000 processor within the DOCSIS 2.0-qualified Cadant C4 cable modem termination system (CMTS).

ARRIS' 2D12U Cable Access Module design marks the third card in the C4 CMTS product line to use NetLogic devices. ARRIS' latest design can pump out 32 downstreams and 192 upstream channels in a 14-RU chassis.

NetLogic said its "knowledge-based" processors are presently shipping in a variety of core, metro and edge routers, as well as Layer 3 and 4 enterprise switches and routers.
