Net2Phone names 'preferred' VoIP tech partners
Following a VoIP integration and deployment with Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico, Net2Phone has formalized vendor partnerships with Cedar Point Communications and Motorola Broadband.
Under the deal, the companies will jointly market a cable VoIP platform made up of Cedar Point's flagship SAFARI C3 integrated switching system and SafariView Element Management System, and Motorola's BSR 64000 cable modem termination system and SBV5120 multimedia terminal adapters. Net2Phone, meanwhile, will serve as the trio's hosted VoIP provider, and supply backoffice monitoring and OSS management software and Tier II technical support.
The deal is not exclusive, though it sets up Cedar Point and Motorola as Net2Phone's preferred vendors, a Net2Phone spokeswoman confirmed. Financial terms were not disclosed.
She also confirmed that Net2Phone continues to work with Gallery IP Telephony, but noted that Gallery IP's softswitch no longer supports Liberty Cablevision's VoIP deployment.
Net2Phone said the pre-combined VoIP elements will speed cable VoIP deployments.
"Integrating all the pieces to deliver a comprehensive managed phone service over a cable network is hard. Through this triumvirate, we have demonstrated a clear solution for operators looking to accelerate their telephony deployment by eliminating the stumbling blocks of assembling it themselves," said Michael Pastor, president of Net2Phone's Cable Telephony division, in a statement.
