N2 Broadband has introduced a platform that enables network operators to share network resources between a variety of services, including video-on-demand, IP video, high-speed data, and IP telephony.
The Enterprise Session Resource Manager (eSRM) is also designed to share QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) resources across video servers.
The company originally offered eSRM as a component of its plug-and-play OpenStream VOD platform, but demand for its use in a range of applications has prompted N2 Broadband to offer it as a stand-alone product.
"The eSRM module responds to that need and enables our customers to scale beyond traditional VOD in support of a growing number of new interactive services," said N2 Broadband President and CEO Reggie Bradford, in a release.
The company said eSRM is being trialed as a stand-alone product by an unnamed "major" MSO. N2 Broadband expects to make the product available commercially by Q4.
