ICTV opened up its deployment possibilities this week after gaining a key validation from Motorola Broadband, the largest distributor of digital cable set-tops, and completing integration with the Gemstar-TV Guide International interactive program guide (IPG).

The Motorola Horizon Developers Program validated ICTV's HeadendWare, a platform that pipes interactive applications to thin-client boxes, for use on the widely deployed DCT-2000 set-top.

Gemstar's IPG is deployed in more than 12 million homes.

Following the Motorola validation and the Gemstar integration "we can work with them to offer MSOs the ability to deploy true broadband interactive services without the delays and constraints of in-box, carousel-based solutions," said ICTV VP of marketing and Business Development Jonathan Symonds, in a release.

ICTV also has completed integration and the Pioneer Electronics Passport IPG, and is in the field with the Scientific-Atlanta SARA guide.
