Sigma Systems has developed a new operational support systems (OSS) product suite for the mobile wireless market.

The company said its Sigma Service Management Suite provides order management, service provisioning and activation, and billing/customer care integration for a broad range of wireless services. According to Sigma, the platform has already been deployed by a large North American wireless service provider, but did not disclose the name.

Brian Cappellani, Sigma's CTO, said the growing deployment of next-generation wireless systems has built demand for Sigma's new product."

"Service providers now require new OSS infrastructures that can facilitate rapid introduction and automated provisioning of complex services and service bundles, as well as reduce operating costs and increase margins," he said, in a release

The product suite leverages Sigma's Service Management Information Model and its core Service Management Platform (SMP).

Sigma also develops OSS products for cable and satellite. Company President Tim Spencer said the new wireless offering should facilitate a bridge for partnerships between wireless and cable, "providing each with the ability to extend their service offerings into a broader consumer base."
