Charter Communications Inc. is bringing NASCAR racing content to its broadband Internet customers, thanks to an agreement with Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Inc.

The arrangement enables Charter customers to access to NASCAR.COM features such as TrackPass Basic and PitCommand.

TrackPass Basic provides broadband users with live coverage of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, including practices, qualifying events and actual races. The coverage also sports exclusive multimedia content, ranging from in-car audio of top drivers to condensed video versions of the races.

PitCommand is a GPS telemetry application that tracks the position of all 43 NASCAR NEXTEL drivers in real time. The service allows customers to see each car's RPM, speed, braking and throttle data.

"We continue to look for opportunities to enrich our high-speed Internet content, and given our NASCAR Bush Series sponsorship, TrackPass Basic and PitCommand are naturals," said Barbara Hedges, Charter's vice president of broadband marketing, in a release.
