Sandvine and Troy get tough on worms
Troy Cablevision wants to clean up its broadband network, and is enlisting the help of Sandvine Inc. to do it.
Sandvine announced a deal today with Troy that calls for the deployment of Sandvine's Worm/DoS Traffic Mitigation (WDTM) solution in Troy's 4,000-subscriber broadband network.
The WTDM system will enable the network to become self-defending, capable of defeating worm traffic at all five stages of its life cycle, Sandvine said.
Dick Freeman, Troy's CEO, said in a release that the Sandvine solution gives his company "the capability to mitigate the malicious traffic in our network before it can reach subscribers."
