An agreement between Convergys Corp. and Bright House Networks' Indianapolis Division will strengthen the service Bright House can provide to its customers, said its Indianapolis division president Buz Nesbit.

Convergys announced the companies' agreement today. As part of the deal, Bright House purchased a license for Convergys' ICOMS Web Self-Care module, which allows customers to serve themselves through the Internet. This product is meant to reduce the cost that cable and broadband service providers pay for high customer service by allowing customers to interact with self-service contacts instead of calling into live operators.

In a release, Nesbit said the partnership would allow his company to enhance its philosophy to "provide customers with dynamic entertainment options and clear any obstacles that stand between them and the information and entertainment they seek."

ICOMS is Convergys' convergent video, voice, and data billing and subscriber management solution.

Nesbit also said the agreement would give customers the "convenience of a single bill for multiple products" and the "option and freedom of paying their bill through the Internet."
