Comcast's Scott Snody wins Cable-Tec games
Scott Snody of Comcast Cable Communications took home the overall title at the 2004 SCTE National Cable-Tec Games, held yesterday, June 17 at the Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando, Fla.
Snody, a communications technician for Comcast, placed in the top five in four of the games' five events, including first place in coax splicing.
Second place overall went to Mike Beer of Time Warner Cable, who won two events - meter reading and MTDR - and third place went to Craig Vavruska, also from Comcast.
Event winners besides Snody and Beer included Thomas Fisher, Cox Communications, for fiber splicing, and Andy Wheeler of Comcast for Cable Jeopardy.
In all, 28 contestants participated in the games.
