Charter Communications is the latest MSO to test the Wi-Fi waters, agreeing to provide free wireless Internet access to festival-goers at this month's Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn.

Charter will support the event with Wi-Fi equipment from Cisco Systems Inc., including the company's Aironet 350 Series Wireless Bridge.

The MSO estimates that about 90,000 people will attend this year's festival, slated to run June 11–13.

"We expect that thousands of those in attendance at Bonnaroo will want to connect to the Internet, if only to check their e-mail," said Joe Romano, VP of sales for Charter Business Networks.

Among recent Wi-Fi-related moves, Comcast partnered with T-Mobile USA to provide a wireless Internet service at the historic Headhouse Square Plaza.
