The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is giving its members a new resource on all things broadband with the debut of SCTE InfoScope, a cable engineering and technology information search engine.

The SCTE InfoScope database offers information on video-on-demand, voice-over-Internet Protocol, Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification, HDTV and wireless Wi-Fi technologies, among others. That includes cable terminology, formulas, acronyms, news articles, white papers, presentations and other resources.

In addition, an "Ask the Experts" section features links to SCTE listservs with cable technology contacts worldwide.

SCTE members can log on to the search engine at SCTE also is offering a free trial to nonmembers through July 16.

"It is an exclusive member benefit of the SCTE - and the only one of its kind in the cable telecommunications industry," said John Clark, president/CEO, SCTE. "We are proud to be able to offer our members this service, especially as it expands our already extensive offerings from our mission of Professional Development, Information and Standards."
