The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has named Greg Garabedian as the group's 2004 Personal Achievement Award winner.

Garabedian, director of technical operations with Charter Communications in Worcester, Mass., will be recognized during the Society's annual awards luncheon at the Cable-Tec Expo, set for June 15–18 in Orlando.

The award recognizes an SCTE member who "has demonstrated significant personal and professional growth." Garabedian, an SCTE member since 1993, is a member of the board of directors at SCTE's New England Chapter, and received the chapter's "Personal Achievement Award" for 2003. He is also a certified SCTE Broadband Communications Technician (BCT) and Broadband Communications Engineer (BCE).

Locally, Garabedian supports "Charter Cares for Children," an anti-abduction campaign that seeks to register youths for police identification purposes.
