Rogers Cable executive quits

Dean Macdonald, a former Cable Atlantic executive who joined Rogers Cable when it bought the Newfoundland company three years ago, is leaving at the end of the month.

Macdonald has held a number of jobs at Rogers since 2001, including executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

As such, he was the Number 2 executive at Canada's largest cable operator, with systems in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Rogers Cable Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc., which has a majority stake in Rogers Wireless, as well as publishing, retailing and sports businesses.
