Rogers battens down the broadband hatches
Rogers Cable Inc. beefed up its broadband security capabilities after inking a deal with Network Associates Inc.
Rogers said it will offer the McAfee Privacy Service to all of its existing and new cable modem customers at no additional cost. The service offers higher levels of privacy, virus protection, firewall capabilities and parental control tools.
"When customers select an Internet provider, they need to know they will get first-rate protection to help prevent virus and hacker attacks, as well as protection for their families from inappropriate Internet content," said Michael Lee, Rogers' vice president, product management.
