CableLabs has tapped Cache Valley Electric and TSB to help the industry's R&D house relocate and rebuild its headend, labs and satellite earth stations to a new facility in Louisville, Colo.

Both vendors will also head up Ethernet and coaxial wiring at the new facility. About 30 miles of coax and 53 miles of Ethernet will be installed in the new building, the companies said.

Cache Valley Electric, based in Lone Tree, Colo., also served as a data contractor for The Cable Center. TSB was hired about 10 years ago to build CableLabs' original headend.

"Cache Valley and TSB have constructed a highly complex cable and IP network in which we have the ability to move any analog or digital signal anywhere within any portion of any lab - assuring flexibility for our projects and the vendors supporting them," said Mark Guzinski, CableLabs' director of interop facilities, in a statement.
